A Case Report of the First Recorded, Successful Term Delivery of an Obstetric Patient With a Classiv Mullerian Anomaly (Bicornate Uterus) in Region 3 Health Services, Guyana

by the Case: Despite antenatal diagnosis and cephalic presentation, women
with a bicornuate uterus may still experience complications during labor , highlighting the
importance of individualized delivery planning.
Case Pr esentation: A 19-year -old G2P0A1 with a bicornuate uterus, diagnosed with first-trimester
ultrasound, had an uneventful pregnancy . At 39+3 weeks, she was admitted in early labor with plans
for vaginal delivery but developed arrested active phase, requiring emer gency cesarean section.
Intraoperatively , a bicornuate uterus with a septum 2 cm above the isthmus was confirmed.
Conclusion
This case underscores the need for vigilance during labor in patients with known
uterine anomalies, even with reassuring antenatal findings.
