Coordinator
Dr. Rajendra Sukhraj is a Consultant Urologist at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC). He completed medical training at the University of Guyana and postgraduate training in urology at the University of the West Indies. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Caribbean College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Urological Association and the Société Internationale d’Urologie. Dr. Sukhraj is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Guyana. His clinical interests include kidney stone disease, prostate conditions, and minimally invasive urological surgery.

Programme Overview
A 5 year program that is intended to train residents up to the standard expected of a specialist urological surgeon. It involves a combination of didactic and clinical teaching sessions.
The mission of the DM Urology program is to deliver comprehensive teaching and mentoring while providing an inclusive learning environment to stimulate research enquiry and achieve competent surgical practice in general Urology.
The Programme offers the opportunity to provide our residents with the highest quality urologic residency training to prepare them for a career in Urology, while establishing a culture of resident well-being to ensure our residents will be emotionally healthy and able to provide the best care possible to our patient and health care community.
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Minimum one (1) year post-internship clinical experience
- Valid registration with the Medical Council of Guyana
- Professional Letters of Recommendation. At least one from your current clinical Head of Department.

- Medical Registrar, Senior Medical Registrar and Consultant
- Lecturer / Academic/ Mentorship.
- Research opportunities-each resident has a scholarly project to complete.
